Stop At: Jardin du Palais Royal, 6 rue de Montpensier, 75001 Paris France
Meet your private historian guide in front of the Comédie Française, a famous Parisian theater. It’s located right by the entrance of the Palais Royal, our first revolutionary stop. This stop is in a sense the birthplace of the French Revolution. It’s where in July 1789, two days before the storming of La Bastille, the journalist Camille Desmoulins encouraged the people to take up arms.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Jardin des Tuileries pl. de la Concorde, rue de Rivoli, 75058 Paris France
Let’s walk to the Tuileries Gardens, where the Republic was born. You will get to imagine a lost royal palace that once stood there.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Place de la Concorde, 75008 Paris France
At the end of the Tuileries Gardens gate, you will spot Concorde Square, which was a nerve center during the Revolution. It’s here that the famous guillotine was once installed and where so many people lost their heads!
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Place de l'Hotel de Ville, 75004 Paris France
After riding the metro like a real Parisian, you will reach Hotel de Ville. The Town Hall was a really prominent place for the French “sans-culotte’ revolutionaries, as they used to gather here to look for work and debate about their political ideas.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Place de la Bastille 75011, 75011 Paris France
Our last stop will be Bastille Square, the heart of July 14, 1789! Relive the day of the storming of La Bastille, which marked French history. Learn how this event led to a Republic – a political system that is still in use in France today.
