Stop At: Pegasus Bridge, avenue Major John Howard, 14860 Ranville France
Stop at the exact location where The original Pegasus Bridge, previously known as Caen Canal Bridge, used to be. The Original Bridge, which capture took place in the early morning on D-Day, June 6, 1944 was replaced in 1994 by a more modern bridge and is now housed in the Pegasus Memorial Museum. Its capture was facilitated through the use of three (Horsa) gliders which landed near the Caen Canal and were used to secure the bridge.
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Juno Beach Centre, Voie des Francais Libres, 14470 Courseulles-sur-Mer France
Visit the Juno Beach Center, not only a museum about the D-Day landings, but also a place of national commemoration. Surely the most comprehensive museum about the role played by Canadians during D-Day landing in Normandy. Guided tour of 2 Bunkers, on "Juno Beach", is also included in the Visit.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Stop At: Canada House, 32 Prom. des Français, 14990 Bernières-sur-Mer, France
Around the house, more than 100 Canadian soldiers were killed or wounded in the first minutes of the invasion. This is probably the first house which was liberated by troops who landed on the beach.
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Beny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery, 1/2 mile east of Reviers on highway D35, Reviers France
The cemetery, designed by P.D. Hepworth, contains 2,048 Second World War burials, the majority Canadian, and 19 of them unidentified.
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Ardenne Abbey, Ardenne Abbaye Saint-Germain-la-Blanche-Herbe, 14280, Bayeux France
In 1984, a monument was erected in memory of the victims of the Ardenne Abbey massacre, at that same location where were found the bodies of 20 Canadian soldiers, members of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders and 27th Armoured Regiment. They were captures and executed by Waffen SS forces in this monastery near Caen, France, in the early days of the Normandy campaign.

Our guide was prompt, courteous and very knowledgeable. A very comprehensive tour and the Canadian museum (with Canadian guides) was wonderful. Going through the German bunkers was quite an experience as was paying our respects at the Canadian cemetery. It is a long day at 11 hours but it’s a 2+ hour journey to the coast each way. Highly recommend.
