Stop At: Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Rouen, Rouen, Seine-Maritime, Haute-Normandie, Normandy
Rouen cathedral is only one highlight among many others. The whole experience starts with a visit of the tall ships at the docks. It is as follows:
• You meet your tour guide at the meeting point
• Excursion starts at 7 am - Back in Paris at about 6:30-ish pm.
• Train to Rouen in Normandy where the tall ships celebration happens. Provided with round trip tickets to Rouen
• We'll go on board of some historical tall ships docked during the event. One of the possible visits will be of the "Hermione", a historic vessel of the Independence of the US - used by General Lafayette's for his travel to America
• We'll explore the historic, quaint and enchanting town of Rouen with its medieval architecture
• We'll admire (and learning about) the tallest gothic cathedral of France, Notre-Dame of Rouen, that was painted by impressionist Claude Monet
• We'll see where Joan of Arc was infamously executed, burnt at the stake
• We'll admire the beautifully crafted clock tower of Rouen
• And see many other true hidden gems, like a former black plague cemetery
• Spectacular views along the way (by train, and in Rouen by the Seine river)
• Possibility to eat at one of the several lunch accommodations in town or to have a picnic (not included)
• This private day trip is perfect for children who always dream big of fantastic and faraway adventures like in "pirates of the Caribbean"
• Although we'll do everything at a leisurely pace, please make sure that elders and children will be comfortable for a whole day excursion
• Children are fantastic! We love to engage with them and to drive their curiosity. Because you know your children better than we do, you know if they will handle a whole day trip
• Your tour cheerfully finishes in Paris where your tour guide will sail you back (by train, of course :-)
