About this activity
We are going to begin this tour in the morning when we’re going to leave Paris and drive towards
C
hantilly. In max 1,5 hours we’ll arrive at the castle
. With an audio guide you will enjoy two hours exploring by yourself this marvelous Castle
, Grounds and Great Stables. The Castle was rebuilt between 1875 and 1885 after being destroyed during the French Revolution, and reborn like a Phoenix out of the ashes. Another point of interest is
'Les Grandes Écuries'(Grand Stables) a nice 18th century building which is still used for demonstrations of dressage and other spectacles.
In
Giverny you will have time for refresments or a nice lunch before exploring the universe of
Monet. The artist designed several colourful gardens, getting his new family to help him. His ambition was to to create a garden with
lily ponds. Monet was not seeking specific inspiration with this new plan, but once he did it, they led to his very finest paintings –
Les Nymphéas, and that put little village on the world map. Monet became very famous by this time. A lot of people came to visit him in Giverny, changing the face of the village. Monet lived here up until his death in 1926. This last stop will mark the end of our authentic tour while also having time to exchange traveling impressions. We know this tour will prove to be a unique and wonderful experience for you and we will kindly ask you for reviews as this will help other travelers make their choice.
