Stop At: Pointe du Hoc, 14450 Cricqueville-en-Bessin France
After arriving in Normandy from Paris, the first stop on this full-day tour is Pointe du Hoc. It was here, that World War II Allies faced bullets and grenades from the German soldiers who stood above them on the cliffs. This area proved a crucial place for these heroic soldiers to regain control of. Overlooking the English Channel on the north-western coast of Normandy, this was the highest point between Utah Beach and Omaha Beach. Using this to their advantage, the Germans fortified the cliffs with gun pits. However, on D-Day, the United States Army Ranger Assault Group scaled the cliffs and captured Ponte du Hoc from their foes.
Omaha Beach

Stop At: Omaha Beach, Avenue de la Liberation, Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer France
Omaha Beach is the largest of the five landing areas of the Normandy Invasion of World War II which took place on D-Day. While it may be hard to imagine while looking out at the peaceful waters of this beach today, Omaha Beach was the site of a major turning point for the Allies during the war.
