Normandy Beaches Experience by coach from Paris

Spend a culturally and historically rich day, beginning with an early departure from Paris between 6:30 and 7:00am. As your guide accompanies you at the Normandy landing beaches, you will discover bunkers, German fortifications at the Pointe du Hoc, the American Cemetery, and Omaha Beach. Omaha Beach, located in Colleville-sur-Mer, is the most famous of the five landing beaches and was the scene of many Allied losses. For this reason, it is also known as “Bloody Omaha.”
After a walk on the beach, you will visit the American Cemetery. More than 9,300 white crosses and a special wall mark the names of the soldiers who fell for the liberation of Europe.
For lunch, you will be on your own in Arromanches, a historic town known for the artificial harbor that was constructed for the Allied landings. It is also the site where nearly 10,000 materials arrived on D-Day. Today, one can still see the so-called Phoenixes, floating caissons made of reinforced concrete, in Mulberry “B,” the harbor constructed on Gold Beach. You will have the opportunity to explore Arromanches on your own for the rest of the day. Entrance to the D-Day Museum in Arromanches and Arromanches 360, the circular cinema, are not included in this tour.
