Stop At: Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, Paris, Ile-de-France

Nestled in the heart of the capital, the charming Ile de la Cité is the island on which Paris was born, and the spectacular gothic masterpiece of Notre Dame Cathedral stands proudly at the centre of this lovely island, as it has done for more than 850 years. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, a visit to Notre Dame cathedral is a must on any visit to Paris.
Your expert local guide will accompany you into the church and guide you around the interior, pointing out the dazzling rose windows - some of the largest in Europe - and the relics of Christ’s crown of thorns. The construction of the cathedral started in 1163, and lasted over 170 years. Upon exiting Notre Dame you’ll have a chance to admire the grandiose exterior and hear the stories and legends of the many personalities bound up in the fame of the cathedral.
PLEASE NOTE! The 9:30pm evening tour does not include a visit of the interior of the cathedral, as it is closed. Instead we take advantage of the beautiful long summer evenings to climb the bell towers and admire the stunning views over the city in the dusky evening light, as the night draws in over Paris. It’s the perfect way to end a Parisian summer’s day!

Begin your visit by following in the footsteps of Victor Hugo’s famous hunchback, Quasimodo, the bell-ringer of Notre Dame, and climb the 422 steps to the towers. Our pre-reserved entry guarantees your skip the line access to the iconic bell towers. Enjoy an up close view of the amazing gargoyles and chimera and see the belfry, home to the 13 ton bell Emmanuel. You will also benefit from some of the best views across the Ile de la Cité and extending right out over Paris. Your guide will point out the major site and monuments, and offer you tips and information on the best ways to visit them during your stay.
