About this activity
Join us on an off-the-beaten path bike tour around Paris' and see parts of the city you may have otherwise missed! First, you'll bike along the Bassin de la Villette towards one of the most famous street art areas in Paris. After a brief explanation of residential life along the canal you will head uphill towards Le Buttes-Chaumont park, which offers you an extraordinary view over the city of Paris. While we're not allowed to bike through this park, we will walk our bikes to the highest point before exiting the park.
Next, we will travel to the Belleville park for a panoramic view of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower. Along the journey your guide will be offering some insights into the way local Parisiens live and pointing out new community efforts, such as shared gardens and grassroots initiatives to protect and promote this neighborhood. Then we will make our way to Place de la Republique, which was the heart of protest following the recent attacks on Paris. It is historically a common meeting place for social movements in Paris.
Finally, we'll make our way up the Canal Saint-Martin and stop at a local boutique shop for some natural wine, craft beer or snacks, and a stopover in Villemin Park, before finishing back at Generator Hostel.
This tour is recommended for confident riders as there are a few hills involved, and more riding in the road than our Paris Day Bike Tour. We can accommodate some children on this tour, but we prefer that they be steady on a bike and 9+ years old.
