Your day begins at the Eiffel Tower where your guide will meet you, secure your tickets and lead you up the stairs for a unique visit to this amazing landmark. Once you reach the first level you will take a walk around its perimeter and view landmarks while you continue to learn about the lights, the construction, the paint and some of the towers legendary antics.You will have a short break to visit the souvenir shop, snack bar, restroom and the small theater for a short film. After your break you will continue to the second level as the scenery expands all around you. Upon arriving at the second level you will have climbed as far as a person can by stairs, 704 of them. From here your guide will give you a tour of Paris from the sky along with a brief lesson in the proud history of the city. When you return to the street level it's over the river and to the Trocadero for an iconic view and your best photo op of the Eiffel Tower. Now it's time to go underground and ride the famous Paris metro with a guide by your side to lead you and teach you how to navigate the subway. Next stop is Paris' most exciting square in front of the Renaissance masterpiece, the Hotel de Ville. As you stroll along the street you will see the many sidewalk cafes and restaurants to choose from for your lunch break. When you rejoin your group it's over to the Ile de la Cite, the original city of Paris and home to the Gothic classic, the Notre Dame de Paris, where you can view its splendor from Point Zero, the geographic center of Paris, France. Your stroll on this island will take you past the ornate gates of the Palace of Justice, the Conciergerie where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned after the Revolution and the Saint-Chapelle church. Before you leave the island you will head towards the oldest bridge in Paris, the Pont Neuf and see the new location for the famous Locks of Love. Cross over the bridge to the right bank where you will stroll alongside the river past the Bouquinistes, or booksellers, and celebrate a tradition that dates back to the 15th century. You are almost at your last stop, the magnificent Louvre Museum. Enter through the Royal Courtyard and and walk past the world famous Louvre Pyramid to meet your expert art historian for your Louvre Scandals and Controversies Tour.
