Burgundy farmers' market, Chablis, wine tastings. Plus truffle hunting option

Pick up and transfer will be at 8am from a centrally located hotel (details will be sent prior to your departure) Then, you’ll be ready for your full day adventure in the beautiful countryside of Northern Burgundy.
Departing from Paris, the drive takes just over 2 hours. Throughout the tour your guide will delight in explaining the history, culture, food & wines of this fascinating region.
Truffles thrive on the well-drained limestone soils of the region so on arrival we will go into the fields with the local « trufficulteur » and his dog where you will learn all about the art of « hunting » for these rare and delicious mushrooms. Afterwards we will return to his home where you will be treated to a tasting of the « black diamonds ».
Next stop are the vineyards and quaint town of Chablis. Here you will visit a local wine maker where you will learn the secrets of producing these world-class white wines with commented tastings and an explanation of the different « terroirs » that make up this unique appellation ; a benchmark for producers of great Chardonnay wines from all over the world
Lunch is a typically Burgundian affair and you will have the opportunity to sample some delicious local specialities washed down with a glass or two of the refreshing local wines.
This afternoon will be your opportunity to discover the little-known wines of Irancy which produces some great red wines from the pinot noir and an ancient local varietal, the Cesar. Close by is the pretty medieval village of Saint Bris where you will be able to visit a local wine grower renowned for his Saint Bris Sauvignon blanc wines. It is in the cool depths of the beautiful 12th-century cellars that you will be able taste these rare wines along with some of the superb local reds and other whites wines which contribute to the excellant reputation of the Auxerrois wine producing region.
After your wonderful day with us in the French countryside expect to be back in Paris around 7-8pm where you will dropped off at the same centrally located hotel.
