Join our tour of Paris of Notre Dame Island and the Louvre to explore the world’s best art and architecture in one day with an English-speaking art historian guide.

Start where Paris was founded. Île de la Cité was the settlement on the river Seine which became the medieval royal island. Here you will see some of Paris most famous historical buildings such as the 13th century Sainte Chapelle and the intimidating Conciergerie. The latter was part of the Royal Palace until the revolution when it was repurposed as a prison that struck terror into the hearts of the aristocrats.

The recently saved Notre Dame Cathedral is located on the island and your guide will take you through the streets to get as close as possible to its beautiful facade. A true survivor, you’ll discover how it has faced destruction many times in its history. Still standing, it reflects the changes that tore through France and over time it has become a symbol of hope for Parisians.

Although Notre Dame is closed off to the public, you will be able to visit inside the nearby Sainte Chapelle. Using your skip-the-line access your guide will ensure you bypass the crowds and get straight inside this gothic masterpiece to relax beneath its radiant stained-glass windows. After soaking up the colors beneath the delicate vertical arches you’ll have some free time to find lunch in one of the many bistros of the area.

Part two of your full day tour is a short stroll away at the Louvre. More than one million pieces of art are waiting for you. Even with skip-the-line access it would be impossible to see everything here. Your guide will use their art historian background to navigate through the artworks on a carefully selected tour. That way you are guaranteed to view the highlights like the Monas Lisa, Venus De Milo, and the Winged Victory of Samothrace.

We had a good amount of time at Norte dame, could have spent some more time inside. The guides where knowledgable and I love the ear piece so we could hear them anywhere they went. The Louvre - If you just want to see a few main pieces this is for you, if not then I recommend a a separate full day

Notre Dame was very beautiful and our guide was very informative and kept our interest. We bought the tower tickets and didn't understand what was involved. Over 400 continuous tiny winding stairs to get to the first level with great views and then more steps to go to the very top. We skipped the second level. Our legs were jello after the first. Unless you're in reasonably good shape, do not climb the tower. Once you start up, there's only one way to go and that's all the way to the top. Our Louvre guide was a bit drier, not a lot of personality. He certainly knows a lot about art and wants you to know how knowledgable he is. I recommend less time at the beginning of the tour in the moat/underground areagreater than 30 min spent here and more time to view the masterpieces. Lot's of walking thru rooms full of art to get to see the gems. I'm glad we had a guide because we would have gotten very lost on our own .Overall, a very busy day of adventure and art. I actually enjoyed the Musee d'Orsay more than the Louvre. Much less crowded, no guide necessary and the art is amazing!! It is packed with one great work after another. Impressionists were a nice change from all the religious renaissance art we saw in Italy and Paris on our trip.

So worth it! The guild for Notre Dame was amazing!! So much knowledge about everything! The skip the line was awesome as the steps up the tower is where you would lose so much time. The louvre guild was amazing too! You can tell she loves doing this and genuinely wants you to have fun and see alot.doit
