About this activity

Led by a perfume expert in a dedicated classroom in the museum, the workshop explores the history of perfumery and the origins of raw materials. You'll learn about the nine different essences used by the nose with its sensory and olfactory memory development. Learn the fragrance pyramid: head, heart and base notes, as well as all the steps to personalize your own Eau de Cologne.

At the end of the workshop, you will receive your 100ml customized bottle. The workshop is followed by a 20-minute guided tour of the museum outlining the origins of perfume and its development over three millennia. It features ancient and contemporary artifacts from the private collection of Jean-Francois Costa, grandson of Eugene Fuchs.

I found the whole experience informative and fun and came out with a delightful perfume. Nice way to spend a few hours on a rainy day. And the tour after was great.

Well, it was a nice experience and we had fun with the workshop, but we didn't learn that much, actually. It was more like mixing for fun.
