About this activity
Why You Shouldn’t Miss This

Paris is one of the major financial centers of Europe and the third highest GDP in the world. Its history goes back to 52 BC when it was conquered by the Romans and was made a garrison camp. By the 12th century, however, it was a political, cultural and religious capital of France. The Palais de la Cite, which continues to stand to this day was built in the 12th century on the Ile de la Cite island. It is home to hundreds of attractions and monuments, many of them built during the medieval and renaissance periods. A number of them are located close to the Seine and can be seen during the river cruise. These include the Notre Dame de Paris, the Les Invalides, Conciergerie, the Palais de Chaillot, and Louvre Museum. A cruise is a perfect way to experience the beauty of Paris, especially at night when all of these monuments are lit up, making for one of the most beautiful riverside views in the world.

Your Experience

The cruise will take you past the renowned attractions of Paris, and under numerous beautiful bridges that are present over the Seine. You will get onto the cruise ship at the base of the Eiffel Tower. An audio commentary is available in 3 different languages, allowing you to understand the history behind each of the buildings seen. You will then pass by the National Assembly building and the Musee D’Orsay. The sunlight paints the building in a beautiful golden white color, and at night, the entire structure is lit up, and the large windows give stunning views of the interiors. The cruise ship will then pass by the Academie Francaise and the Conciergerie, where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned.

You will then come upon the marvellous Notre Dame de Paris. The front facade is visible, along with the towering spires that are associated with Gothic architecture. You will then see the Arab World Institute, an ultra-modern building that is a stark contrast to the historical monuments situated around it. The cruise ship will take a turn, and you will move towards the starting point. On the other side of the river, you will see the Hotel de Ville, a massive structure that houses the local administrators of Paris. The world-famous Louvre Museum will pass by on your right, but you will unable to see the glass pyramid due to the high walls covering the attraction. You will then see the Grand Palais, a well-known exhibition hall and museum complex. The last monument is the Palais de Chaillot, and the famous buildings can be seen situated a short distance away. With this, your hour-long cruise on the seine will come to an end.
