About this activity
Vaux-le-Vicomte, with its deluxe 17th century decor and outstanding French Gardens is enchanting. It is so beautiful that it directly inspired the Sun King to build the Palace of Versailles, in order to rival it. You’ll learn about the captivating history of the estate and its past owners, wander through the perfectly ordered French Gardens, and enjoy free time to explore inside of the Chateau itself.

Fontainebleau is unparalleled in its grandiose architecture and links to important events in French History. With more than 1500 rooms inside, it is a sumptuous palace and according to Napoleon Bonaparte: “ The true home of kings, the house of ages!”. Wonderful tour of the Chateaux. Tej is very knowledgeable, and gave us the history of the areas. We made a brief stop at a medieval chateau nearby as a comparison to the architecture of the Chateaux. Highly recommend him and the tour.

Guide was fantastic. Super friendly, enthusiastic, had been to both places many times, put things in perspective that gave us a real feel for the places. It's so much better than going on your own. Don't have to worry about travel details. Just sit back and enjoy.

Such a satisfying day trip with a marvelous and engaging tour guide, Being able to tour the kitchens at Vaux-Le-Vicomte was a treat as I am a retired chef. You often get to see the dining rooms, serving porcelain and silver, but not so much the kitchens. Fontainebleau was fascinating with it's long history and various additions. The art, furnishings, and porcelain were exquisite. We were especially awed by the size and number of centuries it covered

I loved this tour!!! The Chateaus were stunning inside and out! My 3 favorite things about this tour were 1. The fact that these Chateaus are NOT overrun with tourists like in Versailles and the Louvre. It was great to be able to explore them and not be overwhelmed by a million other tourists around me. 2. The fact that this was a small group tour. I would have hated to be on any of the bus tours that have like 60 people in them! Our group was 8 people big and that is the max for this company. 3. The guide JB who shared tons of fun facts and stories that made it easy to absorb the several hundreds of years of amazing history that each chateau has. So, if you want to take a fun small group tour of some beautiful chateaus look no further! This is the one to take!!! Thanks Jb for a fabulous tour!
