The tour starts in Trocadero Plaza so you can enjoy the best views of the tower and get a few pictures. Then it will head towards the tower and immerse you in the history of this glorious monument to nothing in particular. You'll learn about the 1889 World Fair and its conception and construction, as well as the influential Parisians who despised it and tried to get it torn down before eventually being won over by the masses. You'll also hear about some of its lesser-known quirks, like why it has to be painted regularly, how a con man sold it - twice - and why it was almost moved to Canada. The tour will finish at the base of the tower so you can appreciate its sheer immensity, then you can choose to buy a ticket and go up, or opt for a relaxing riverboat cruise down the Seine.
