Built between 1658 to 1661 for Nicolas Fouquet the Marquis de Belle Île, Viscount of Melun and Vaux. Inside the chateau you will travel through time while exploring the 17th century architecture and decor by Charles Le Brun which influence the architecture at that time. Then on you will explore the magnificent gardens by Andre le Notre which was used as an inspiration for the Gardens of Versailles. The collaboration of these inspirational artist commenced the Louis XIV Style combining architecture, interior design and landscape design. As proven by the garden’s pronounced visual axis.
