About this activity
During this half-day tour you will see the best that Versailles has to offer without having to wait in line !
Your guide will take you back to the Golden Age of France during a morning or afternoon trip to the Palace of Versailles. The chateau and gardens count among the most prestigious monuments of the world’s artistic heritage, and are certainly the finest and most complete achievement of 17th century French art. Former residence of the ‘Sun King’ Louis XIV, this sumptuous royal palace was home to three of France’s most illustrious Kings for over 100 years. The guided tour of the palace includes the State Apartments of the King and Queen, Royal Chapel and Hall of Mirrors, a richly decorated gallery which boasts 357 mirrors, french bay windows and crystal chandeliers.
At the end of your visit there is free time to discover the famous gardens à la française ; a 2,000 acre park designed by André le Notre with its magnificent groves, statues, and fountains. Depending on the day and time of the year you join the tour, you will have the opportunity to catch the Fountains Show or the Musical Gardens show before returning to Paris.

We had three days in Paris, and we really wanted to see Versailles. Highly recommend the guided tour, as it affords the chance to ask questions. We had free time to explore the gardens and a non hurried pace through the palace. Our guide, Isabelle, was terrific.
Very easy transportation to and from Paris and plenty of time to tour the grounds. Our guide was great, too.
I loved my tour guide - she was knowledgable, funny and witty all at once - thx again great job!!! was worth getting in ahead of the line up -for sure
Great guide, Zara was able to answe all our questions and gave very interesting and pertinent information. Although the crows were very large she managed to shepherd all of us and provide lots of info. At the end of the tour she drove us back to our hotel. The palace and the gardens are a must.
Our guide, Kevin, was awesome. Complaints are that the bus transportation stated air conditioned bus. No actual air conditioning, only an open top bus, which was inadequate considering the temperature that day was 95 F and you are stuck in traffic most of the way. Also, warning that the tour was very short, only 2 hours to see the palace and the grounds. Could have used more time to see all.
