About this activity
DAY 01: ARRIVE PARO
• You will be engaged in sightseeing around Paro after lunch wherein you will get to visit the following places viz:
• Visit Taa Dzong (Museum)
• Paro Rinpung Dzong and
• Drugyal Dzong
• Kicchu Lhakhang

 Overnight stay at Paro. 

DAY 02: PARO - Attend Paro Festival
• Paro Tshechu is one of the most prevalent religious festival in Bhutan and is annually held in Paro . The mask dance is the heart core of the festival. People from all walks of life come together in their best Bhutanese attires and scintillating jewelries. Men are dressed in their finest gho (national dress for men) while women in extravagant hand woven Kiras (national dress for women).During the Tshechu, Mask dances and folk dances are being performed by the monks and laymen wherein you will find them magnificently dressed in grand silk robes and skillfully crafted masks.

DAY 03: PARO TO THIMPHU 
• Drive to Thimphu,the capital city of Bhutan following the Pachu River for 1.5 hours . You can stop on the way to take a look at the magnificent Tamchhog Lhakhang, the hereditary place of worship for the Bhutan’s iron bridge builders. You will visit the following sites as well.
• The National Memorial Chorten
• Tashi Chhoe Dzong
• National Institute of Traditional Medicine
• Bhutanese Craft Bazaar
• Buddha Dordenma Statue
• Bhutan Post Office

Overnight stay at Thimphu 

DAY 04: THIMPHU TO PUNAKHA 
• Visit Do Chula pass on the way to Punakha which is placed 3100 meters above the sea level. There are about 108 sacred stupas or temples being build out there.
• Visit Punakha Dzong-Punakha Dzong is the second largest and one of the most beautiful Dzongs in Bhutan.
• Visit Chimi Lhakhang-Is a popular Buddhist monastery built around 1499 by Ngawang Chogyal.

Drive back to Paro.

 Day 05: PARO -ATTEND THE FESTIVAL
• Attend the Paro festival and in the evening, you can buy some Bhutanese souvenirs.

 

DAY 06: PARO –HIKE TO PARO TAKTSHANG
• The walk of approximately 2 hours uphill will take you almost a kilometer above the Paro valley (we will arrange a horse for you if you cannot hike). The Taktsang Monastery is built on a sheer cliff which is 900 meters above the valley from where you will have a great sight of the valley floor beneath. The Monastery is an important pilgrim site for the Buddhists.

• After the breakfast, we will drop you to the Paro International Airport from where you will fly back home.
