About this activity
Day 01: Arrival in Paro (2250m) and transfer to Thimphu (2350m)

Arrive at Paro flying over the world’s highest mountains where our representative greets you and takes you to Paro for lunch. After the delicious lunch drive towards Thimphu and carry out the sightseeing program guided by the professional Bhutanese guide. Pay visit to Buddha Point which provides the stunning view of Thimphu city and pay visit to Takin Compound, the home to Bhutan’s national animal, Takin. Also pay visit to some famous places of Thimphu including Tashi Choe Dzong, Folk Heritage Museum, and Centenary Farmers Market and also view the new authentic craft bazaar. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Thimphu to Punakha (1310m)

Early in the morning after breakfast drive towards Punakha crossing over Dochula Pass (3140m) for about 1 & half hours. Dochula offers the spectacular view of eastern Himalayas in the clear weather. The road then descends through varied forest and then reaches the highly cultivated valley of Punakha. On the way take a short hike through beautiful rice fields to Chimmi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to Drukpa Kuenly, also known as “the Divine Madman”. Later in the afternoon visit the beautiful Punakha Dzong located at the confluence of the Pho-chu and Mo-chu river. In the evening drive to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03: Punakha to Paro (2250m)

After early breakfast, drive from Punakha to Paro re-crossing Dochula Pass and stop at Thimphu for lunch. Then drive further for Paro and visit the Rinpung Dzong which continues its age-old function as the seat of the district administration, district court and the monastic body. Later drive for the hotel at Paro. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04: Paro - Hike to Taktsang Monastery

Early in the morning after breakfast drive towards the base camp of Taktsang and then commence the hike up to the Taktsang Monastery-Tiger’s Nest. The hike continues for about two hours and reach cafeteria which offers the spectacular view of monastery, where Guru padmasambhava landed on the back of a tigress in 8th century. Pay visit to Taktsang Monastery which provides the mesmerizing view of Paro Valley. Afterwards, hike back to the road point then drive to Kyichu Lakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines in Bhutan. Also visit Rinpung Dzong which continues its age-old function as the seat of the district administration, district court and the monastic body. Later drive back to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 05 : Departure

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to catch the onward flight. Bid farewell to the remote and legendary Dragon Kingdom disappearing again behind its guardian mountains.
