Day 1: Arrival at Paro Airport

Stop At: Tashichho Dzong (Thimpu Dzong), Chhagchhen Lam, Thimphu Bhutan
Goximbo team will receive you at Paro International Airport and from their we will drive towards Thimphu. On arrival at Thimphu, will check in the hotel. Later visit Tashichho Dzong, a Buddhist monastery and fortress on the northern edge of the city. Leisure time within the city.

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing

Stop At: Buddha Dordenma, Kuensel Phodrang Viewing Point, Thimphu 11001 Bhutan
After breakfast at hotel, you will visit:

Buddha Point/Kuensel Phodrang - Buddha Dordenma is a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue in the mountains of Bhutan celebrating the 60th anniversary of fourth king Jigme Singye Wangchuck

Stop At: Thimphu Chorten (Memorial Chorten), Thimphu Bhutan
Memorial Chorten - The Memorial Stupa, Thimphu, also known as the Thimphu Chorten, is a stupa in Thimphu, Bhutan, located on Doeboom Lam in the southern-central part of the city near the main roundabout and Indian military hospital

Stop At: Motithang Takin Preserve, Thimphu Bhutan
Motithang Takin Preserve - Houses the rare national animal of Bhutan. Takin is listed by international conservation agencies as a vulnerable species and it is a rare animal found only in Bhutan, Nepal and Burma

Stop At: National Folk Heritage Museum, Pedzoe Lam, Thimphu 11001 Bhutan
Folk Heritage Museum - The house replicates a traditional farmhouse and is furnished, as it would have been about a century ago

Day 3: Traveling to Punakha

Stop At: Dochula Pass, Thimphu Bhutan
After early breakfast, we will drive to Punakha (84 km – 2:20 hrs) drive, Drive through Dochula pass, the highest road pass in your trip at 3010m. When the weather permits one can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan at a site that stretches almost 180 degrees. After a short tea break continue to sub-tropical Punakha.

After hotel check in, you will visit the following:

Stop At: Punakha Dzong, Punakha 13001 Bhutan
Punakha Dzong - Built strategically at the junction of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers in 1637, by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to serve as the religious and administrative centre of the region. Damaged by four catastrophic fires and an earthquake, the Dzong has been fully restored by the present King

Stop At: Chimi L'hakhang Temple, Punakha Bhutan
Chimi Lhakhang - Chimi Lhakhang, also known as Chime Lhakhang or Monastery or temple, is a Buddhist monastery in Punakha District

Day 4: Travel to Paro

Stop At: Drukgyel Dzong, Paro 11001 Bhutan
After early breakfast, we will drive to Paro (126 km – 3:15 hrs) drive, after hotel check in, you will visit the following:

Drukgyal Dzong - Drukgyal Dzong was a fortress and Buddhist monastery, now in ruins, located in the upper part of the Paro District, Bhutan

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Kyichu Lhakhang, Lamgong Gewog, Paro 12001 Bhutan
Kyichu Lhakhang - It is an important Himalayan Buddhist temple situated in Lango Gewog of Paro District. This is one of the oldest temple in Bhutan built in 7th Century by the Tibet king.

Stop At: National Museum, Tag-Dzong Rinpung Dzong, Paro 12001 Bhutan
Ta Dzong/National Museum of Bhutan - Built as a watch tower the Ta Dzong, it was converted into the National Museum in 1968. The museum boasts antique Thangka, textiles, weapons and armour, household objects and rich assortment of natural and historic artefacts

Day 5: Paro Sightseeing

Stop At: Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest), Taktsang Trail, Paro 11001 Bhutan
After morning breakfast, you will proceed for Tiger Nest/Paro Taktsang, it is located at top of about 800-meter cliff in Paro. It takes slightly more than two hours to reach the monastery on foot from the nearest road point. Taktshang or the Tigers lair as the monastery is widely regarded is one of the most important in Bhutan. The history is associated with the visit of Guru Padmasambhava, the Indian saint who came to Bhutan in the 8th century AD. The cave was named Taktshang after Guru Rinpoche flew into the cave from Kurtoe Singye Dzong in eastern Bhutan riding on a tigress. Later in 1692 the fourth Druk Desi Tenzin Rabgye started to construct monastery and finally completed after three years in 1694.

“Trip to Bhutan is never complete without climbing to Taktshang”, says one tourist. Indeed, it’s true as the journey there fills you with spiritual bliss.
