We can visit the historic Frank Synagogue located on the grounds of the former Jewish Hospital, as well as drive by other synagogue buildings in the historic Logan neighborhood, which thrived with Jewish life between 1920-1980.

Temple University stands in the middle of what was the German Jewish neighborhood of the gilded age, around the turn of the 20th century. We will see historic synagogues and the sites of this once center of the elite of Philadelphia's Jewish community.

This neighborhood on the edge of West Philly was home to a tight-knit, thriving Jewish community between 1920-1980, and small vestiges remain. We will see the former Har Zion Temple and other synagogues, and the Jewish shopping district along 54th St.
