Stop At: Wat Nokor, Off the Road to Phnom Penh, Kampong Cham Cambodia
Day 1: Phnom Penh - Kompong Cham - Kompong Thom
Road journey from Phnom Penh to Kompong Thom with sightseeing en route: Today, meet your personal guide and driver and depart Phnom Penh by car for Kompong Cham. Make a stop in Skuon to taste Cambodia’s more exotic culinary delights, the deep fried spider. Short tour of Kompong Cham to view examples of colonial architecture. Visit Wat Nokhor with its ancient temple and modern style pagoda (12th century). Lunch at local restaurant. Continue to Kompong Thom. En route, visit Wat Kohear Nokor (11th century). The Santuk Silk Farm makes a perfect stop, here you can learn about the process of silk weaving from worm to weaving and contribute to the sustainable development of the community. Visit Samnak Village’s stone sculptors carving out their giant Buddhas. The craftsmen use rocks from Phnom Santuk’s foothills to craft spectacular statues of all shapes and sizes.
