Mekong River Cruise to Silk Island from Phnom Penh with Lunch

Be collected by your friendly, local guide at your hotel shortly before 8am. Travel by tuk tuk to the riverside to board your boat for the day. The Tara Prince has been refurbished to offer a comfortable journey. 

Travel down the Tonle Sap River, passing stunning scenery as Phnom Penh fades into the background. Relax with the peace and quiet of the countryside. See Cambodians at work as you sail by farms, fishermen, floating villages and islands. The cruise to Silk Island takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Arriving at the peaceful Island, your guide will walk you to the Wat Chong Koh pagoda, situated on the island filled with colorful statues and stunning architecture. 

From there, visit a silk weaver and understand how they make silk. See the process from its beginnings with silk worm eggs, then learn about the cycle and process of how it is turned into silk ready for products. You will have the opportunity to buy some of the hand made silk produced including table cloths, scarves and covers, if you choose. These prices cannot be found accept outside the city. 

From there, return to the boat where you will have a freshly prepared Khmer BBQ meal with complimentary drinks. Two drinks are included as part of your meal, additional drinks can be purchased from the fully stocked bar on board. Tour concludes at approximately 3pm with drop-off at your hotel.
