First stop is the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum – a former school converted to a detention center during the Khmer Rouge. Equally harrowing as Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum is the Killing Field of Choeung Ek. Both are tough visit but important for learning about the country’s history.

Stop At: Russian Market, Corner of Street 163 and Street 444, Phnom Penh Cambodia
A totally change your pace at the Russian Market (so called because a large number of Russian Expats who shopped here in the 1980’s). It is the largest market in Cambodia, where everything is sold from carvings to jewelry, clothes and souvenirs.

Stop At: Tonle Bassac II Restaurant, #534 Preah Monivong Blvd (93), Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Stop At: Royal Palace of Madrid, Calle Bailen, 28071 Madrid Spain
Then proceed to the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, name for the 5,000 silver tiles that cover the pagoda’s floor, known for its collection of gold, silver, crystal and bronze Buddha statues. Then, hilltop Wat Phnom Temple is the city’s namesake. Last stop is Independence Monument, modelled on the central tower of Angkor Wat, Independence Monument was built in 1958 to commemorate the country’s independence from France in 1953. It also serves as a memorial to Cambodia’s war dead. Wreaths are laid here on national holidays. Return back to your hotel at around 17:00pm.
