Stop At: Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, Corner of Street 113 & St 350 History Museum, Phnom Penh 12304 Cambodia

Explore the tragic recent history of Cambodia with a guided Khmer Rouge tour to two of the country’s most notorious sites. Start with a visit to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, also known as S-21. Originally a school, the compound was taken over by the Khmer Rouge and used as its main detention and torture center. Take a sobering tour of the site, learning about the prison’s history, and hear the stories of the people held within its walls, some of whom survived and are on site to talk with visitors.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Choeung Ek Genocidal Center, Roluos Village, Sangkat Cheung Aek, Phnom Penh Cambodia

Continue on to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. This rural compound was used as an execution site and burial ground for some of the millions killed by the Khmer Rouge regime. Learn about the atrocities and brutal killings that occurred at this site: a sobering but important experience for those truly interested in learning about the history of Cambodia and the resilience of the Cambodian people.

Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes

Stop At: Russian Market, Corner of Street 163 and Street 444, Phnom Penh Cambodia

Before the day comes to close, stop at the Russian Market. This bustling bazaar earned its name in the 1980s as the expat Russian population often shopped here. These days the market is filled with everything from souvenirs to local handicrafts, silver jewellery to electronic goods. A fun market to explore and a great place to pick up some extraordinary items!
