About this activity
When your cruise ship pulls into port, take a shuttle to meet your guide at a central location near the i-SITE at Picton Harbour. From here, you'll set off in a 4WD Land Rover with a small group of up to six passengers.
The 1-hour shore excursion whisks you away on a 20-minute drive up the privately owned, bush-clad, Gondola Hill. With a height of 1,500 feet (457 meters), the hill offers gorgeous views of the picturesque Marlborough Sounds. The lookout has plenty of room to walk around and provides an ideal vantage point over the region's sunken river valleys and numerous bays and coves. Take time for photos and some local history along with interpretation of the formation of the Sounds from your guide and driver, prior to being returned to the Picton waterfront.
Please note: The 4WD track to the top of Gondola Hill is well formed; however, it is not accessible when wet.

Loved this trip. amazing views and lots of info
The view was spectacular. We drove on private property to get this. The drive itself wasn't much. The trip was supposed to include drinks and nibbles but we did not see any. Could have been done in half the time advertised and so half the price.
