This tour was a letdown. Full disclosure, we there were 3 of us, my husband, my mom and myself did miss the last train, but that has nothing to do with this review. The day started out great, we were picked up from our apartment and the ride to the meetup point was fine. Our driver at this point was great! Then we got on the bus which took us to the first train station where we learned very little about the area, and also that our day was going to be quick little stops along the coast traveling by train. We only had about 45 minutes in each village, basically enough time to see the coast and take a few pictures. That is until the last stop where we had time for lunch and a little sightseeing. We were told that there is a place for lunch already organized and that because it's the off season there won't be other options. So we spent the 18 per person to get this lunch. My husband and I are vegan and made sure there was a vegan option ahead of time. When we got to the restaurant the head chef had a problem with the tour group all changing tables the sun was very strong and the tables were all set up along the windows. Many people asked to change tables to the more shaded area of the restaurant and threw a glass in the direction of our table! It broke all around our feet and managed to spray glass onto our table! And the employees all acted as though this was normal! Not even cleaning up until half way through the pasta course. We were fine with the price being the same as those eating the fish, until our main dish arrived and it was just a plate of steamed winter vegetables, no seasoning, so sauce, nothing special. Not even salt. Then the chef thought it was enough that everyone got a shot of limoncino for free as an apology for her tantrum. After lunch we set off to explore the town and find the limoncino tasting that was supposed to be part of the tour. This was not organized in the least. We walked around the village asking at various places if they were doing the tasting and ultimately we lost track of time and arrived back at the train station just as the train was leaving at 2 minutes to 16:00 We ended up on the next train and met up with the group, so it turned out alright. We were under the impression this was a full day tour, but the majority of the day was spent on the bus or the train and ended at 16:00. A tasting was supposed to be included, but we found out we were on our own to find it. Lunch was not included and was way overpriced for the food we got and the glass throwing show. The time spent in each village was not enough, nor was this a nice vacation day because we felt rushed at each stop. The little bit of information about each village was lacking. This was our first tour from this company and we don't plan on going on another. To end on a good note, our guide and group were all understanding of us missing the last train, and they handled that rather well.

We enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the trains were on strike that day and we had to rely on ferry service which was cumbersome and took longer.

Chose day trip from Pisa- rejected one from Florence The tours combined anyway!! Quite misleading -2 coaches combined to make it one of the most impersonal trips weve ever done. 2 coach loads of tourists plus independent travellers on Riomaggiore station. Horrible. Too many people. Stressed guides.
