Pisa Off-The-Beaten-Path 2-Hour Small-Group Walking Tour
Along the way, discover and learn about the four main districts that divide up the city within its medieval perimeter walls. Stop to admire the mural by the late, 20th-century American artist Keith Haring. The largest Haring ever painted, this colorful jigsaw-like design of brightly painted figures was the only one he created that was intended to be permanent.
Stroll along the busy, pedestrianized Corso Italia to the River Arno and stop to soak in the views over the beautiful riverbanks. Delve into the districts of San Antonio and San Martino to view their highlights, and once past the river, head into the heart of Pisa.
Wander down the Borgo Stretto and explore the districts of San Francesco, once home to Galileo, and Santa Maria. Pause to take in the splendid Piazza dei Cavalieri, formerly the epicenter of the medieval maritime republic of Pisa, and stunningly redesigned at the end of the 16th century by Florentine architects.
As the finale to your tour, pay a visit to the magnificent and monumental complex of Pisa Cathedral and its bell tower — the Leaning Tower. View both of these stunning buildings from the outside and take photos before your tour concludes here at approximately 11:45am.
Before leaving, ask your guide for any useful information and directions you may need to continue exploring here or other parts of Pisa at your leisure.

David's passion for Pisa and his extensive knowledge made two hours fly by too quickly. The living history on the high street, including the most magnificent H and M Store ensured that we left Pisa knowing it was a lot more than a wonky tower. David was so full of anecdotes that we could easily have continued for another two hours. Thank you.
Brilliant tour! David was very knowledgable and put Pisa in a different light. There is much more to Pisa than just the Leaning Tower! David showed us a more interesting side of the city. Highly recommended!
This tour reviewed some of the WWII, medieval, and more current history of Pisa. That was all very interesting. These were things you probably wouldn't find on your own. The guide made some restaurant recommendations which lead us to one of our more memorable meals. The guide was well known to locals and his connects were helpful to add to our experience with extra access.
David was very welcoming and Gave us a great history of Pisa. And as described it was a slow pass and answers our questions as well. Worth doing as an introduction to Pisa
