About this activity
Take a family photo and hear how the Tower of Pisa is one of the emblematic monuments of the Tuscany region. As a result, it is one of the monuments that make up the “Piazza dei Miracoli”, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Following multiple renovations during the 20th century to prevent collapse, some believe that the tower will be able to stand for another 300 years. The Tower of Pisa is the campanile (a bell tower used to call faithful ones to prayer and usually erected next to a church or cathedral) for the Pisa Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption. It is best known for leaning southwards at an angle of 3.59 degrees. The cause of the incline is not agreed upon. Some argue that a calculation error while laying its foundation pushed the tower into the ground; others believe that it leans because of ground subsidence related to marl, a loose and crumbly rock.

During the tour, you will be able to climb the tower’s 297 steps to the summit and observe the surrounding buildings from the top. Your tour also includes a visit to the Square of Piazza dei Miracoli.
