Harvest Caye Excursion: The Ruins of Nim Li Punit

Your Day Starts off by taking a shuttle off the Island of Harvest Caye to the Mainland of Belize at the Placencia Municipal Pier. There, you will be greeted by your Shore Excursion Guide before boarding your Air Conditioned Transport to the Ruins. On your way, you will pass by many small Mayan Settlements where residents there live a very traditional lifestyle similar to the Ancient Mayans. The Drive to the Ruins only lasts 40 minutes, on your way there, your guide will narrate and point out the different landmarks.

This attraction hosts two visitors center displaying thousand year old artifacts that were once used by its inhabitant. The Nim Li Punit Ruins are well shaded by a Canopy of trees and at its highest peak at the site, on a clear day, you'l be able to see the Caribbean Sea. Nim Li Punit is made of 3 main groups, the West, East and South. The West served as an access route to the city in ancient times, the East is made up of Royal Tombs and a plaza of stelae while the South contains the ball court where a ritualistic game, relatively close to soccer was played. At the end of your Tour, you will be given the chance to purchase hand made crafts and souvenirs from the local Mayans before returning to the Port.
