About this activity
Enjoy convenient morning pickup from your hotel in Playa del Carmen, and travel with your guide to Tulum, the Walled City that boasts an enviable location. Mounted on the edge of a bluff, Tulum towers above the Caribbean Sea and a flawless white sandy beach. At the ruins, learn about the now-abandoned city that was only inhabited by Maya nobles, high priests and prominent citizens, and then enjoy free time on the nearby beach.

Afterward, visit Rancho San Felipe, a Maya community of 30 residents; part of your tour proceeds goes to the sustainable development of local Maya communities. Meet a shaman during a traditional purification ceremony. Afterward, take a short trek into the jungle and enter Sac Actun ("White Cave") and Nohoch Nah Chich ("Giant Bird Cage"), the Yucatán region’s second and third longest cave systems.

Follow your guide’s lead inside the caves, and learn about the discovery and ongoing exploration of the extensive underground river network that included passageways to Tulum. Arrive at a cenote (natural underground pool) and snorkel in clear waters, surrounded by dramatic rock formations like stalactites and stalagmites.

Next, travel within the lush forest aboard a Mercedes-Benz Unimog, a massive 4x4 vehicle. You'll stop to rappel your way down 40 feet (12 meters) to Yaxmuul, another cenote. Enjoy thrills through the treetop canopy along three ziplines; be prepared for a splashy ending. Wrap up your day with a satisfying buffet lunch of homemade classic Maya fare.

Then board your air-conditioned transport and relax during the ride back to Playa del Carmen. Your full-day tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel in the evening.

Our tour operator Riaz was could not be more helpful. Very knowledgable about the Mayan history and made the Tulum visit interesting. Happy to answer to all the endless questions. Really good humour, first hand tour guide- did the cenote rapelling, cave snorkelling and zip lining with us. All of the activity were interesting and fun. Meal at the end of the tiring day was plenty and delicious. Overall a thrilling, fantastic day out, and a must do.

Our guide Paco was fantastic! Would say zipline and cenote was highlights of this excursion package. You do get wet, but plenty of time to change dry and get wet again. Tulum is more of the site seeing portion of the trip. It’s really warm and you will need water. Some parts of the walk there is very little shade so be prepared. All in all great way to spend a day.

It was a fun trip with the family. Oscar, our waiter at the pool, was REALLY REALLY good. He did an excellent job! Volleyball and lounging around the pools were fun. The young people at the hotel kept the days at the pool entertaining. The tours and excursions were nice. The water at the Cenotes was cool and I wish there were more to have been seen underwater, but it was nice.

Just an amazing tour.. our guide Euri was amazing.. the Cenote, cave underwater snorkeling was a amazing experience.. I feel photos are pricy. I wish they had photo packages cheaper.

can’t take photos of any of the cenotes/activities, they ask you to spend $30 US if you want one print of a photo, lots more for family packages. Poor ‘archaeologist’ tour in tulum. That being said, this will be fun for kids if they’re active and brave enough to do the abseiling.

This was an amazing day full of laughter, fun and great memories. Our tour guide Jonathan was amazing and very knowledgeable in every aspect and kept the group engaged, entertained and was very professional and made the trip worth it! Bring snacks, lunch isn't until 2-3pm.

Snorkeling in the Cenote and the underground cave was a great experience. Good mix of activities and would repeat this tour again if I had the chance.

Great tour! I had a group of 6 and we had a fun time. It's unfortunate that we couldn't take our phones with us for the water portion to take pictures but the staff onsight did a great job capturing all of our moments and provided us with the pictures at the end of the tour for a cost. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking for some adventure while in Tulum. No experience is necessary to do the activities on this tour and you learn a lot of history.
