This was a fabulous tour, and it ended up being a private tour for two of us. Genaro was a great guide who pampered us every step of the way. His sensitivity, knowledge, sense of humor and patience were unparalleled. Genaro read us well, listened and offered us various options as the day progressed. He explained the day to us, welcomed input and he taught us much about the areas we visited. He tended us as he kept us safe, broadening our knowledge constantly. It did not take long for us to feel like good friends and pampered guests. Our trip was three pronged, and Genaro explained what we would need out of our day packs for each mini adventure. Our first stop was at the Biosphere where we took a boat ride and then floated down a Mayan made canal for about a mile. We wore our life jackets like diapers, which allowed us to sit up or lie on our backs and soak up the gentle float with a small current guiding us through a luscious area. Genaro began our day with this event first as he knew there would be fewer people at the Biosphere mid-morning. When we arrived back at the starting point for the boat ride and float, we ate our tamales, then headed to the Muyil Ruins. The Ruins had very few people, due to the timing of Genaro's day itinerary. He showed us many interesting things around nature and waited as we explored and took photos. After the tour of the Ruins, Genaro took us to a cenote named Dos Ojos, where we swam in the pristine water. The only disappointment was not having goggles or snorkeling equipment, which the Viator representative said we would not need. The rep mostly likely did not realize we could ulitize them. So, when in doubt, take goggles or snorkeling equipment if you have it. Another vacationer loaned me a snorkeling mask, so I was able to enjoy the cenote experience more fully. The comfort of the car, the homemade authentic tamales and the various drinks were icing on the cake for our day. Genaro took photos of us with his waterproof camera, and he also snapped some photos of us with our cameras. We giggled our way through one of the best tours we have ever been on in our lives. We would recommend this this tour for almost any age. We are in our late 60's and early 70's. While we were tired, we were not exhausted by the end of the tour. Our day with Genaro was a highlight of our vacation in the Yucatán Peninsula. Thank you Genaro and thank you Viator.

This tour was magical. Bridget, our tour guide, was a fountain of knowledge about both the little known Muyil ruins and the Mayans habitation of this area. The highlight was donning life jacket, and floating down the fresh wate canals that the Mayans created as trade routes linking them to the coast

Well, it started off badly. The office forgot about our reservation. After several phone calls to the local office someone answered the phone. They made up most lame excuses why they were not at our hotel. Finally, about an hour and a half later, Mr. Jose Lopez showed up in a car. He apologized for the mix up even though he was clearly not to blame. He saved the day. Mr Lopez was efficient, knowledgeable and courteous. He spent time explaining the Biosphere and it vast history and its flora and fauna. He was excellent in every way.
