Tulum Ruins, Grand Cenote & Snorkeling

1 day
About this activity
After hotel pickups we start the day visting Tulum ruins. It is a majestic city ruled by Halach Uinicoob, where the palaces still show their wealth in paintings and decoration and there are excellent lines of zac beoob (white paths) that allow us to see the infrastructure of a city from the 10th century, an icon of greatness and beauty due to the incredible contrast between culture and nature. The turquoise waters of the Caribbean and the majestic temples and walls turn this seafront city into something unique in the world. Just fifteen minutes away from the archaeological area of Tulum, we can find the entrance to the Grand Cenote. An idyllic cenote, suitable for snorkeling due to its size and its quite deep waters (from 40 meters to 15 meters in some places), from which you can see the incredible formations of stalactites and stalagmites from a distance. The state of Quintana Roo has the three largest subterranean rivers in the world. The Zac Actn system, where the Grand Cenote stands out, is considered the ninth longest system of wet or dry caves in the world. In addition to its 111 cenotes, pools where the river surfaces, which some experts have called time capsules, remains of the early humans have been found in them, besides the historic skeletons of animals from the Pleistocene. After the experience at the cenote, we will be on our way to the Playa Maya, to snorkel in 2 reefs in the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, bathed by the sun and in the second largest reef in the world. Getting to know the sea life in this guided visit is one of the marvels you shouldn't miss.
