About this activity
“Mavrud Route“. Meeting at the Tourist Information Center in the pedestrian street of Plovdiv. Discover the Mavud production sites in the Thracian Plane at the foot of the Rhodopes, the country which produces this unique wine. You will visit two wineries representative of the wine sector evolution in Bulgaria from 1930 to these days.
You will enjoy the Mavrud in its three colors and five tastes. Pop Mavrud will tell you about St. Trifon Zarezan and the winegrowers’ traditions.
Free visit of an UNESCO World Heritage site – the Bachkovo Monastery.
Typical Bulgarian meals will be offered for lunch prepared with local products.
Return to Plovdiv in the late afternoon.
