Stop At: Bayards Cove Fort, Dartmouth's inner harbour, Dartmouth TQ6 9AN England

Visit the ancient maritime town of Dartmouth, tour and visit Bayards Cove. Used for many a film set. Including...the 1970s TV series - The Onedin Line.

Pass By: Blackpool Sands, A379, Dartmouth England

Driving out from Dartmouth, past the old ship yards, on to Stoke Fleming and on to Strete. This area has been designated An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We will be passing Blackpool Sands [possibly one of the prettiest Beaches in the UK.

Stop At: Slapton Sands, Slapton, Kingsbridge TQ72TQ England

Views of Slapton Sands are spectacular. We will be stopping along the sands to hear about (Operation) Exercise TIGER.

The whole area was evacuated during dec.1943, (including my family and their cattle) for the USA Troops to practise the D Day landings [Operation OVERLORD] a very interesting [& tragic] story - around 700 + young US troops perished in this area.

Stop At: The Sherman Tank Memorial Site, Slapton, Kingsbridge England

Stop At: Lost Village of Hallsands, South Hallsands, TQ7 2EY England

We will walk along the cliff path from Beesands to HALLSANDS. (Maximum 2 hours walking altogether). Again a fascinating and interesting story how the village got washed away, during a giant storm in 1917. This was once a thriving community & fishing village, with a Post Office, shops and the ‘London’ pub. There is now one house remaining!

Stop At: Start Point Lighthouse, Start Point, Kingsbridge TQ7 2ET England

Driving up through Widewell through the ancient Devon Lanes on to BEESANDS. Here we leave the Car for a gentle WALK Towards Start Point LIGHTHOUSE [Start Bay] -( we only go as far as ‘the lost village of HALLSANDS’ . Hear the story - the views along this coast are Stunning.

Stop At: Stokeley Farm Shop, Stokeley Barton Farm, Kingsbridge TQ7 2SE, UK

After our walk back to Beesands [this is NOT a strenuous walk, but it is a stony and uneven coast path] we will drive to the South Hams BREWERY & Stokeley Farm Shop for a visit and well earned ‘pint’ & or a full Devon Cream Tea!

Stop At: Salcombe Harbour, Whitestrand, Salcombe TQ8 8BU England

We will continue our journey through the picturesque South Hams villages of Stokenham, Chillington, Frogmore West & East Charlton to KINGSBRIDGE then on to SALCOMBE. Again one of the prettiest seaside towns in the UK. Popular with the ‘rich & famous’ , upon visiting you will see why.
