About this activity
Pompeii was a town that disappeared from the maps and from people’s memories as it got completely buried under the ashes erupted by the volcano in 79 AD. That dramatic day, in a matter of few hours, stopped the lives of an entire bustling city to only come unearthed many centuries later. These ruins give an incredible picture of ancient romans’ daily life and their original urban setting: homes, shops, frescoes, thermal baths, mosaics and much more.

Included in this tour there is a stop to a Cameos and Corals workshop, to learn more about this ancient art-craft, for which the Neapolitan school is still considered of great importance. Cameos in particular are carved sea shells representing scenes of mythological deities.

Lunch to a local restaurant.

Continue the tour to the Amalfidrive. This tour will take you to a 30miles scenic road along the CostieraAmalfitana, also known as the ”light blue ribbon” (NastroAzzurro). Built in 1832 by the bourbons, this road hasn’t changed much ever since. It runs along the Lattari Mountains coastline, passing by a number of small villages nestled in the rocks and considered amongst the prettiest in the Mediterranean. Inhabited since the VI century BC by the Greeks and previously by local indigenous people, this area mainly shares the same history of neighboring Naples. Tourism, fishing and farming are the main source of income for locals. The most popular products are: the Limoncello liqueur; the colorful ceramic art-crafts from the traditional school of Vietriand the famous Cartad’Amalfi, an exclusive type of paper made out of cloths (linen, cotton and hemp). All these items are sold by the many shops available in Amalfi.

During the road trip, the driver will stop one or two times to the nicest spots to let you enjoy the view and take pictures. In Amalfi you will have some time on your own to stroll around and do your favorite activities, such as shopping, or simply relax by sipping a cappuccino or else. Positano will be seen from the top, for it would take a few hours just to visit this village, located at the bottom of the hill and only accessible on foot.

Extra info:the archeological site of Pompeii is completely open air and the visit will last about 2 hours on foot. It is advised to wear comfortable shoes and clothes according to the weather conditions. Entrance tickets are not included as the fee may vary under certain circumstances, such as age, nationality and profession or in occasion of special events and discount cards. To date, single entrance ticket costs 15 € in Pompeii. The visit at Pompeii’s ruins is led by a tour guide with a minimum of 6 people; under this number audio-guides are provided. The visit at Herculaneum ruins provides audio-guides with a minimum of 6 people; tour guide upon availability.

Had a great day, coach was a little late picking up but with Naples traffic it was expected. Tour guides were informative and helpful. Lunch was great and bonus ferry trip seeing the Amalfi Coast was the highlight of the day.

Saw so many places. Though the visits to Sorrento and Positano are more like short stopovers/viewpoints

Well worth the price. This is a great company to takes tours from. Our guide was charming, knowledgeable, and delightful. They all have history degrees and have been studying the material for years. There was a ton of information, but we didnt feel rushed. Highly recommended!

4 Stars only because of the disorganization at the beginning of the day. We waited at the designated location, but had no information regarding what transportation to look for and no one came to gather us. Fortunately, one of the other couples waiting with us made a phone call and we ultimately got to the bus. From there we drove around picking up and dropping off people who were on same or different tours. All rather chaotic but ultimately things settled and we made an uneventful trip to Pompeii. There the organization was much better. Tour guide was fabulous and the sites were spectacular. Can't say enough about how well prepared our guide was and how professionally she managed our group, making sure everyone got the full service. Lunch following the tour was OK but not great. Also odd that drinks were changed separately, including water. I think the tour should make accommodation for water, coffee/tea, or soda. Reasonable to change for wine or beer. Following lunch we boarded a nice bus for the ride through the Amalfi Coast - Sorrento, etc. Sites were great. The ride on the

This was a great tour. It started out with a group of people going to Pompeii and a walk around the ruins. The only thing that was a little confusing was the guide spoke both English and Italian in our mobile speaker and it was sometimes hard to hear. The brothel area of Pompeii is a must see and our guide was sure to point out this area of the ruins. We then had lunch near Pompeii and left with our private driver to Amalfi Coast. Giovanni was wonderful and took us to a small non-touristy deli where we bought fresh mozzarella and antipasto. The coast was so beautiful and Giovanni was very informative.

The trip was amazing to cover 4 locations in 1 day with a good lunch. Pompeii, Sorrento, Positano and Almafi Coast. The views were breathtaking but we were given too little time to venture in the Almafi Coast. Would be much better if we have 2 hours instead of 45 mins in Almafi Coast.

The tour of Pompeii with Livio was fantastic. He made it very interesting and kept everyone engaged. The trip along the Amalfi coast was ok, although if you suffer from motion sickness at all like I do, you may be a little miserable. This was no fault of the driver or tour company, it simply is the topography. The scenery was beautiful though! Sarah the guide for the Amalfi portion was very informative and enthusiastic. Lunch was ok... pretty basic but fine
