About this activity

Itinerary

You will meet us at the Marina of Vila Franca do Campo for check-in and equipment setup, at the specified time.

The journey will start with a short briefing introducing you to local species, responsible practice on activity, onboard safety, and snorkeling equipment usage.

Everyone will follow the Guide and Skipper to board their designated boat, and go out to sea. Our lookout high inland will then locate our friends, and provide directions via VHF Radio to where the boat will travel - initially at high speed.

While approaching our friends very carefully, your Guide will evaluate if favorable conditions are met to allow the activity proceeding.

Exclusively between June and September, it is possible to swim with any of 4 different species of Dolphins!

You must be always be prepared to go into the water! 2 swimmers will alternate in the water during limited periods of time - and you do not want to miss an opportunity in which Dolphins eventually can come close by their friendliness and curiosity.

On the second part of the tour, the boat will travel to a coastal location for snorkeling, to discover the characteristic marine fauna & flora in the island’s sea bottom.

Know before you go:
* Eat light, and bring your personal water supply, towel, swim suit, a full change of warm clothing, sunscreen and chap-stick for the Sun. Light food is permitted onboard, and a Camera is essential, specially for photography lovers - please protect any personal equipment.
* This tour is inappropriate and inadvisable to anyone pregnant, with weak back, in wheelchair or other delicate health conditions.

It is important to understand that, in the wild, it is not possible to control animal behavior, and proximity or interaction can never be guaranteed.
This is a high conservational risk activity: A qualified Guide in Biology (or related area), will always be present to ensure the best environmental & conservation standards during the activity. If your swimming with dolphins activity has to be stopped, by signs of behavioral disturbance or avoidance, or if in any way it becomes stressful for the animals, your tour will proceed to the coastal snorkeling tour included.
It is not permitted to: use fins, touch, feed, be too noisy, make abrupt movements, or swim too fast in their direction.
Minimum age is 4 years, and children must be accompanied by an adult
