The Northeast is a village, seat of the county by many referred to as the most beautiful of the Island of São Miguel, in the Azores Archipelago, located, of course, on the northeast coast of the Island.

Full of natural beauty and lush vegetation, located in the most rugged part of the Island, the region mirrors the magnificence of the nature of this Island, as can be seen in the various belvederes that appear along the coast, such as Ponta do Sossego, Ponta da Madrugada , Tronqueira or Arnel Lighthouse, among many other special places.

Northeast also has a beautiful architectural heritage, with monuments such as the Mother Church of São Jorge and Nossa Senhora da Luz, or the Chapels of Our Lady of the Rosary of 1529, Our Lady of the Mother of God (16th century) or the São Sebastião, nowadays in ruins, the emblematic Viaduct of the Seven Arches or the beautiful building of the Paços do Concelho of the XIX century.

The Miradouro da Ponta da Madrugada is located at the eastern end of the magnificent São Miguel Island, in the Northeast region, Azores Archipelago, on top of a beautiful cliff of profuse vegetation.

From here you can find panoramas of great beauty, on the fantastic Atlantic Ocean and the green Island of São Miguel, where nature shows its essence. It is worth here to enjoy the sunrise, or in this area known as "Ponta da Madrugada". There is a picnic area.

Situated in the beautiful Northeast region, in the heart of the island of São Miguel, Azores Archipelago, mirroring the natural grandeur of this territory that enchants all that contemplates it.

This is one of the most sought after places in the Northeastern region, offering profuse and very diverse vegetation, along with the clear and fresh waters of the Ribeira that promote beautiful waterfalls and the calm of a beautiful lake.

Throughout the park there are several legacies of other times, such as the Water Mills, one of them a very interesting Ethnographic Museum, or the old miller's houses, also transformed into a handicraft shop and rural tourism.

The area also has cafeteria services, a picnic area and a children's playground.
