Begin your adventure on a boat from Poole Quay, through Poole Harbour with its Brownsea Island, Blue Lagoon, Sandbanks and out to the open sea where you can admire the magnificent rock formations of the Jurassic Coast. The boat brings you to the Victorian Pier in Swanage where you have a short walk to the Swanage Railway station and hop on one of the heritage steam trains.

You can hop-off and hop-on on any of the railways 5 stops, or stay on and enjoy the beautiful surroundings to the end station Norden and then return to Swanage. We took the tour in late June when the weather was perfect - Sunny skies and with cool sea breeze. The boat cruise was relaxing. We got on the boat from Poole and took about an hour to arrive at Swanage Bay. The onboard commentary was a little hard to hear, but the scenery was more than enough to make up for it. From Swanage Bay pier it was a short walk to the train station. The train ride was also very leisurely. It went through some very cute Thomas the Train type of stations and we got off at the Corfe Castle station where we spent a good amount of time exploring the Castle and having lunch at the little town before we headed back on the train, then back to the pier, to the boat, and wrapped up the day. The tour was self-directed so we had all the flexibility to decide what we wanted to spend time on. It was a wonderful way to spend a holiday.

Lovely day out! Advise you to get to the boat early. Great views on the boat. It's about 1/2 mile walk to the train station but through the shops! Stream train again very nice (buy a coffee to take on board) Corfe castle recommend, with lunch or Afternoon tea @ NT over looking the castle

Most enjoyable and very good value for money. 1.5 hours from Poole Harbour along Jurassic Coast to Swanage. Time to walk to station and board Steam Train. Got off at Corfu and even though dinosaurs feel like the climb up to the Castle, could have done. You need warm clothes on the boat. Interesting commentary.

The trip was well worth doing my only advise would be to make sure you keep an eye on the time to catch your steam train as we missed our train our fault and the next one wasn't until over an hour. We will definitely book again early September.

We were looking for a surprise for a 70 th birthday and this was perfect. A great way to see Poole and swanage from the sea and then to ride and the steam railway. Perfect, the buffet car at the station served lovely food and the volunteers were lovely as well, overall an excellent day

The sea and steam adventure was very good and if the advertised times had been adhered to then my planned day would have been excellent. The problem occurred at the booking office at Poole where we were told that unfortunately the last boat back from swanage pier would be 15.00hrs as opposed to the 16.45 hrs as advertised on the website. This was explained as due to tides which I understand however losing that 1.5 hrs meant that we had to forgo actually visiting Corfe castle and experiencing the amazing views because we did not have time to explore the site. As the whole experience was a birthday present for my partner it was a shame that we had to miss this. However this said, we really enjoyed both the boat trip and train ride which were excellent. It was just a shame we didn't have a little more time to enjoy the attractions in swanage and at Corfe castle fully.
