Hoh Rain Forest and Rialto Beach Guided Tour in Olympic National Park

Visit: Hoh Rain Forest, 18118 Upper Hoh Road, Olympic National Park, WA

The tour begins with a scenic two hour van tour from Port Angeles, around Lake Crescent on Highway 101, and then 18 miles deep into the Hoh Rain Forest within the Olympic National Park boundary. During the drive, guests will enjoy stunning views of mountains, rivers, a glacier-fed lake, and a moss-laden rain forest. Upon arrival, our Olympic Hiking Co. guide will lead a 1-2 mile guided hiking tour on scenic nature loops within the Hoh Rain Forest. During the hike, guests will be face-to-face with 300 foot tall old growth Sitka Spruce trees, sword ferns covering the forest floor, and a wide variety of vivid-green vegetation.

After our rain forest explorations, our van tour will continue westward until reaching the Pacific Ocean at Rialto Beach. There will be 20-30 minutes allotted for a picnic meal at the Rialto Beach picnic area then our Olympic Hiking Co. guide will lead a beach hike toward Hole in the Wall (2-4 miles) as time and the tide schedule permit. Guests have the option to join the guided hike or can explore Rialto Beach on their own. At Rialto Beach, guests will walk alongside towering sea stacks, massive driftwood logs, and watch the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean.

Throughout the tour, the Olympic Hiking Co. guide will discuss the park’s natural history, flora and fauna, and identify landmarks. Overall, the group will have approximately 3-4 hours of explorations at the Hoh Rain Forest and Rialto Beach pending road and weather conditions.
