Stop At: Hurricane Ridge, Olympic National Park, WA
This 3-4 hour guided tour begins with a scenic van tour from sea-level in Port Angeles to 5,242 feet elevation at the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center. During the 45 minute drive, guests will see the terrain transition from a lush temperate forest to subalpine terrain. Depending on the mountain weather forecast, guests will enjoy sweeping views of the Olympic Mountains, forested river valleys, and Strait of Juan De Fuca. Upon arrival, 20-30 minutes will be allocated for a picnic meal and exploring the Visitor Center.
After the picnic meal, our Olympic Hiking Co. guide will lead a 60-90 minute guided tour along the nearby Visitor Center hiking trails. The trails are paved and then transition into gravel portions for 1-2 miles of hiking available. These trails provide close-up access to the ever-changing subalpine meadows and incredible 360 degree vistas. Guests can hike one or all of the trails with our guide or simply explore on their own.
Throughout the tour, our Olympic Hiking Co. guide will discuss the park’s natural history, flora and fauna, and identify landmarks. Overall, the group will have approximately 2 hours to visit Hurricane Ridge pending road and weather conditions.
