About this activity
After pickup at your hotel in Port Douglas, head to the Reef Marina where you are welcomed aboard the deluxe catamaran, one of the only boat operators permitted to visit the coral cays of the Low Isles.

Start your afternoon adults-only cruise with tea, coffee and light lunch while your expert crew prepares to set sail for the Low Isles. As you glide along, enjoy the tropical breeze and scenery from the catamaran’s large outdoor decks or spacious interior cabin.

When you arrive at the Low Isles, have several hours to do as much or as little as you like. From the beach, you can easily hop into the water and snorkel around the sheltered lagoon’s coral gardens. Beginning snorkelers and people who do not feel comfortable in the ocean can enjoy snorkeling here knowing that you are just steps away from shore.

Learn more about the iridescent fish and colorful corals of the Great Barrier Reef during a guided snorkeling tour led by a marine biologist. You also get an excellent underwater viewing experience with expert commentary on the glass-bottom boat tour, a perfect option for those who prefer to stay dry. Throughout the day, the attentive crew ensures that you experience a safe and enjoyable excursion.

Refuel with afternoon tea, or a glass of wine or beer and canapes served on board the catamaran before returning to Port Douglas. On the return journey, have your camera ready to snap photos of a tropical sunset over the Coral Sea.

Your premium sailing experience ends when you are returned to your hotel after a magical afternoon sail to the Low Isles.

With apologies for the lateness in posting this review.....I've been busy!!! This was the undoubted top highlight of an amazing 2 weeks of highlights in Australia split between Melbourne and Port Douglas. The boat's fantastic, the skipper and crewman were great - informative, helpful, encouraging when it came to the snorkelling and amusing, the food/nibbles were very tasty and the refreshment on the way back to PD most welcome no alcohol on the sail out as the majority are going snorkelling and/or swimming. The island is a little micro-Australia ecosystem in its own right - wildlife turtles, numerous colourful fish, ospreys on top of the lighthouse, coral reef - albeit not as colourful as it once was due to bleaching the crewman/guide and the skipper were both great at explaining the issues threatening the reef, rainforest, a lovely little beach. My wife had never put her head below the water in a swimming pool before this, let alone contemplated snorkelling - but with some gentle encouragement she not only managed to snorkel for the first time, but also laid claim to the first turtle sighting!. The sail back to PD was amazing....sun beginning to set the closer we got to PD, the catamaran sailing under full sail, a warm wind blowing over us, a few beers to hand and my favourite tunes on my iPod. Absolute bliss!!!

We had a fantastic time on this snorkel cruise. Expert staff on a beautiful, clean boat. The trip is perfect for new or experienced snorkelers. The sail back to shore, while the sun set, was spectacular. Delicious variety of drinks and food on return trip. Highly recommend this excursion.

Having been initially unsure how this trip would be, I can totally recommend it, it is one of the afternoons of our lives that my wife and I will never forget. Firstly it is worth noting that neither of us are particularly 'boaty' people if that is the right way to put it. However it has to be said that you are put at ease straight away as you are told to take your shoes off and the boat is your to walk around and sit / stand and lie where you want. I don't know whether we were really lucky or what, but the catamaran just didn't seem that busy and there was plenty of room, the drinks and food laid on was plenty enough, because ultimately it was the beauty of the scenery and the tranquillity of the mode of travel that were the real stars of the show. The stop at the island was perfectly timed with enough time to do what you wished. You could snorkel, or not if it wasn't for you and we didn't. Sailing back in as evening was starting to kick in after a fantastically beautiful afternoon was lovely, we felt so totally chilled we would live in that afternoon for ever.
