About this activity
Make your own way to the departure point at the Black River on the west coast to begin your tour. On arrival, hop onto your speedboat and listen to a safety briefing and details about the trip ahead from your skipper.
Then, waft past Mauritius’ palm-packed shores and enjoy a complimentary tea or coffee and biscuit as you jet toward waters known for their resident dolphins. With luck, you’ll spot pods of these beautiful animals as they play and skim around the boat. Then, watch from deck or jump in to swim in the ocean with the dolphins nearby.
After your dolphin encounter and around two hours on the boat, cruise to the island of Bénitiers (L’Ile aux Bénitiers) a paradise-like islet fringed by pale sand and shallow, turquoise lagoons. Here, enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch with complimentary soda, beer, rum, wine, fruit juice, water and coffee. See the Itinerary for a sample menu.
Afterward, swim or snorkel around the lagoons and coral beds, and perhaps join your boat to visit Crystal Rock, a clam-shaped rock rising up from the sea. Alternatively, laze on the sand and ogle the views over Le Morne Brabant, the rugged mountain that dominates southwest Mauritius.
In the mid-afternoon, cruise back to the departure point, where your tour concludes, and make your own way back to your hotel.

A very good tour. Would highly recommend that hotel pick up and drop offs should be included in the tour inclusions.
Positive: - lots of dolphins - friendly and skilled skippers - the island was very pretty, and Crystal Rock is a really nice sight - the lunch was tasty Negatives: - poor snorkeling site, few things to see, and the water was deep, so you couldn't see the corals well - upon arriving on the island, we were told to wait for the lunch instead of going for a walk, we understood that it would be served shortly, instead we ended up waiting for an hour, instead of using the time to explore the island
It was an awesome experience. First time in my lifetime. My sons were super excited and loved swimming with the dolphins. Fantastic afternoon spent on an island with some delicious food. Definitely recommend it!!
Fantastic tour! Really enjoyed swimming with the dolphins and lunch. Staff were great.
We got to the Mid-sea on time and there were Dolphins and Dolphins and Dolphins to welcome us. When my four year old daughter refused to enter the sea, the Crew kindly agreed to take care of her while I snorkelled. I shall Never forget this favor. For the first time, I saw that the Dolhins swim in Perfect Geometric Patterns. And they they Change these Patterns flawlessly as they change directions or come to the surface...... The Dolphins are soo soooo Disciplined, I finally understood why they are called "A SCHOOL of Fish"!!!! I am a Vegetarian and the Crew had packed a seperate delicious veggie lunch for my and my kids. What I appreciate the Most {Aside from the Dolphins} is the fact that they did Not take us anywhere other than what was told...... NO NO NO Useless / unwanted stops at some Mall or Handicraft Factory.... ONLY Dolphins and Lunch .... The Crew speaks passable English and Good French.
