About this activity
Passing through the city of Antigua, you will see numerous examples of the Spanish Baroque influenced architecture and colonial church ruins that date back to the 1500's. The city has earned a UNESCO World Heritage Site award due to its cultural importance. In the center of the city, the guide will lead you to the Central Park and Plaza. You will get to see the Church of La Merced, Cathedral Church and the Santo Domingo Convent as well. You will even get to visit the famous Jade Factory where you will learn about the local mining and production of jade. There are a wide variety of restaurants that you can choose from if you would like to purchase lunch. Your guide will make suggestions if you would like. There will also be time to do some browsing and shopping where you will find everything from local handcrafted items, souvenirs and also fine examples of the well-renown brightly colored hand-weaved textiles!
