About this activity
Begin your small group stand-up paddle board (SUP) tour at 9:30am at Mere Point in Brunswick, where you'll meet your Master Maine Guide, Alice. Get outfitted with your life jacket, paddle, board leash, and a small dry bag (if you want to bring something with you on the water). Your small group will receive a short lesson on shore to get you ready, and then the SUP’s will be carried down to the water. Paddling begins on the knees as the group gets acclimated with the bay.

After getting your sea legs and standing, the exploring starts in Northwest Casco Bay. Your guide will help look for Osprey, Great Blue Herons, three different species of gulls, sea ducks, bald eagles, and possibly seals during lower tides. You might see a lobstermen fishing and you will paddle around the lobster buoys. You'll see cottages built in the 1900's on islands and the mainland, and hear stories of how this part of the bay was used by Native Americans and colonists. Your guide will talk about island living with no electricity, lobstering, weather, and geologic features of the Maine coast.

After paddling for about an hour, your group will take a snack break on shore, and then paddle back to the Mere Point launch site arriving about 11:30am.

The route of your SUP tour may change depending on weather, tide, and wildlife. Your guide will always know which way to go to have the most fun! We follow 'Leave No Trace' ethics during the tours. Bring a waterproof case if you want to take pictures while exploring on the tour. If the conditions are too windy for a fun and enjoyable tour as determined by your guide, you will offered the same tour on the tidal section of the Androscoggin River in Brunswick, a chance to rebook, or a full refund.

Please arrive between 15 and 20 minutes in advance so that we can get you outfitted and maximize your time on the water.
