About this activity
After downtown Portland hotel pickup in the morning, travel by luxury vehicle through Portland on a 4-hour sightseeing tour.

Enjoy tea, pastries and seasonal snacks while taking in scenic views of the city and the surrounding volcanic peaks at historic Pittock Mansion. This mansion was home to influential Portland pioneers Henry and Georgiana Pittock from 1914 to 1919, and is now a city park and treasured landmark.

Next, explore the neighborhoods of Portland’s four main quadrants: Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest. Each quadrant has its own distinct feel and unique attractions including art galleries, boutiques, cafes, restaurants and performance venues.

Visit the Pearl Disctrict, Nob Hill and Hawthorne, and hear about the history of Portland’s ten well-known bridges from your guide.

You’ll also explore at least two of the following parks: Washington Park, Mt Tabor Park, McCall Waterfront Park and, depending on the season, the International Rose Test Garden. Your guide will bring the parks alive by identifying the flora and fauna.

End your tour at one of Portland’s greatest treasures, Powell’s Books, one of the largest independent bookstores in the world!

We had a limited time in Portland but wanted to see the city and learn something about its history and everyday life. This tour is perfect to achieve just that. Our driver and tour guide Bob was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of funny and entertaining facts about Portland, its past and present, its culture and food scene. The day happened to be rainy, but we stayed warm and dry in the Mercedes mini-van while traversing all six (yes, six, not four!) quadrants of Portland. The only minor discrepancy between the tour description and the real thing was that they promised some sort of breakfast on the go, but in reality, Bob treated us with some local gourmet doughnuts, which was certainly very nice, but I wouldn't count it as breakfast. So, my advice to fellow travelers is to make sure you have your breakfast before the tour or bring your own snacks. Otherwise, it was a very positive experience and a good way to "meet" a new city.

While the pickup was right on time, the car was dirty, especially the windows. The tour guide was from Portland but provided limited information on the history of the State; or info on Portland was founded. The driving was not good. Four times she almost hit pedestrians and then apologized in the car. The neighborhoods we visited were interesting. Stopped at Pittock Mansion but didn't go into house, which was unfortunate. Did get time at Rose Garden, thankfully. Offered water but not bottled, reusable canisters. No way to know if sterilized after previous use. Didn't feel like a professional tour; overpriced for what was given.

I'm very happy that I chose this tour. It was a great way to preview the city sights and attractions, including the 5th quadrant! The tour guide, Paul, was very knowledgeable and and offered personal insights through conversation that would probably not happen if not for the small group. This is a perfect introduction to the city and helped me decide which sites I wanted to spend more time visiting later. It would also be great if you have only a short period of time to see the city.

I would have liked to have paid more to see the Mansion and not have had soooo much food especially Blue Star Donuts. Pauline M
