There are a variety of hikes we can do in the Gorge; through rainforest to cathedral waterfalls, across dry grasslands growing on dramatic basalt terraces, up the cliffs of the fifth-largest free-standing monolith in the world, through fire-scarred slopes, and many more. It all depends on what you fancy, our own whim that day, and the time of year.

Stop At: Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum, 5000 Discovery Dr, The Dalles, OR 97058-9755

We'll treat you to lunch at the Basalt Rock Cafe, before you peruse this museum of Columbia Gorge natural and cultural history.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Rowena Crest Viewpoint, Old Columbia River Scenic Highway Mayer State Park, Mosier, OR 97040

Get the best view of the eastern Columbia Gorge, starkly different from the western Gorge, but nonetheless Gorgeous.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Cathedral Ridge Winery, 4200 Post Canyon Dr, Hood River, OR 97031-7725

Here you will taste a huge variety of wines made by one of the most versatile, and consistently good, winemakers in Oregon. Then walk outside and catch views of Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood.

Stop At: Marchesi Vineyards, 3955 Belmont Dr, Hood River, OR 97031-9719

The Columbia Gorge has a history of Italian stonemasons and vintners going back to the 19th Century. At Marchesi, you will taste Gorgeous Italians made by a living Italian immigrant, in a laid-back Italian patio atmosphere.

Pass By: Columbia River Highway, State Highway 30 from Troutdale to The Dalles, Troutdale, OR 97060

This 74-mile (123-km) long historic highway was inspired by the Axenstrasse in the Swiss Alps. These days one can no longer drive the entire highway, but we will drive portions of this picturesque, engineering marvel in both the eastern and western gorge, past basalt terraces and waterfalls.

Stop At: Multnomah Falls, 53000 E Historic Columbia River Hwy, Bridal Veil, OR 97010

See the tallest, and most famous, waterfall in Oregon along with it's historic lodge and bridges.

Stop At: Portland Women's Forum State Scenic Viewpoint, State Highway 30, Troutdale, OR 97060

Get your BEST view of the western Gorge at this stop

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Columbia River Highway, State Highway 30 from Troutdale to The Dalles, Troutdale, OR 97060

Your guide will drive you along segments of this stunning 74-mile (119 -km) highway that was inspired by the Axenstrasse in the Swiss Alps.
