Stop At: Mount St. Helens, WA 98649
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel in Portland by 8:00am. You'll drive a little over an hour in our vehicle to your first stop in Mt. St. Helens National Monument, with a short hike through a lava impacted forest (or wetland lake depending on season).
Visit a number of other sites (itinerary changes based on season and weather), which can include views of the cratered top of the mountain, forests both old and new growth, mudflow plains, waterfalls and huckleberry bushes. You will stop for lunch and beverages, and we provide snacks and bottled water.
The stops of the day will be determined by weather and your group's desires and fitness levels; we have something for everything and remember, the best view of the mountain is always with it beneath your feet.
Your professional guide will provide naturalist commentary throughout the day. You'll be returned to your hotel at the end of the journey.

Great day with Sarah. We were the only tourists this day so personal attention was the buzz word. Sarah stopped at her favorite bakery to allow us to pick out our lunch choices. Her vehicle was new and very comfortable for the long ride to the volcano. The weather started out rainy so we were worried. Sarah planned our visit to stop at certain points and wait until she expected the clouds over the crater to clear! And she was spot on!!! Our photos are amazing. She has such a wealth of knowledge of the volcano as well as the Columbia River Gorge. She knew exactly where we would lose cell service so we got the chance to handle that before our ascent. The return trip took us to the gorge to see the vista house as well as 2more waterfalls....scenic spots that we didn’t know we would get to see. She matched our level of energy perfectly. This was a great way to see this volcano!
