About this activity

Our day begins at Porto. We start moving South, towards the Bairrada region, famous for its Suckling Pig and the sweet delicacies but also increasingly by the fantastic wines it produces with its characteristic variety: Baga. With this are produced sparkling wines of huge fineness and high creaminess, as well as red wines of dark color and concentrated aroma.

Out first stop is in Aveiro, the Portuguese Venice. What would be of Venice without its gondolas? Here we also have them, but they are called Moliceiros and they are our next destination! This vessel will take us on ride through the Ria de Aveiro and will drop us at the next attraction.

Next we have the Salinas. Here we will see how the natural extraction of salt is done, an art which has been carried out here for more than 500 years. We carry on our expedition with a relaxing stroll on the Costa Nova Beach, famous for its colourful striped houses.

It's time to taste the typical Bairrada delicacy - Bairrada Roasted Suckling Pig! For this, we will go to Mealhada, the Mecca of the suckling pig in Portugal. This is a unique opportunity to taste this dish at the most famous spot in the country, not to be missed.

To end our day we go to the heart of the Bairrada region, where we will find the Aliança Underground Museum. We will visit the underground tunnels where all the art is stored and taste three (3) awarded sparkling wines.
