9:00 a.m or 10:00 a.m - Your day starts with the pick up at your accommodation in Porto. After 60 minutes you will arrive in Soajo, the heart of Geres National Park. In the morning you will hike in Soajo mountain and you have time to see the shepherd shelters, watermills and the local lagoons.
At midday we stop for a picnic lunch in the mountains with local food and vinho verde.
In the afternoon we will visit Lindoso. Lindoso boasts an impressive castle dating back to the 11th century, overlooking the border with Spain and the valley of the Lima river. From its ramparts you can get a fine view of the sixty granaries (espigueiros) clustered under its protection.
If you are a really walker in Lindoso you have the option to explore Serra Amarela (Yellow mountain) on foot enjoying great views over Spain. The length and difficulty of the day's hikes are tailored to the group's interest level.
